CYA SERVE – Leadership through Service
Mark 9:35 “Sitting down, Jesus called the Twelve and said, “Anyone who wants to be first must be the very last, and the servant of all.”
CYA SERVE is the leadership team for the college and young adult ministries at Lake Avenue Church. Via application, selected individuals are invested into for a term, with the expectation that they will assume a deeper ownership of and vision for the ministry. Individuals will receive spiritual equipping and practical leadership experience
Relevant Info:
- Length of term: September through June (10 months)
- Join a team of 6-10 others
- Attend Leadership Kick-Off in September
- Mandatory meetings 1x a month for 2 hours
- Participate in a majority of college or young adult activities including Fall Retreat
- Communicate about and invite others
- Assume a focus within:
- Worship, Prayer & Vision
- Small Group Leader or Co Leader
- Hospitality (ambiance, welcome, new people, food, birthdays)
- Social Activities and community building
- Outreach (including service and community)
Requirements:
- Committed follower of and desire to grow in relationship with Jesus
- Active Participant in the focus role and meetings
- Sign a team covenant which will signal commitment to each other, the ministry and the Director
- Humble and teachable spirit
